This one DIY course for beginners was designed specifically to teach you how to use your first tool kit safely and correctly and ultimately give you the courage to take on some of your own DIY home repairs.

Our Sydney DIY Workshops for beginner are run by Scarlett Steven who has been on the tools working in fine arts and Sculptures. She has experience in both wood and metal fabrication and loves folding up her sleeves getting amongst DIY home repairs.
She enjoys working with beginners especially – helping people gain new skills and confidence is the best bit!
All Training is hands on. We believe there is no better way of learning, than getting amongst it and have a go in a safe environment.

- The most common power tools – the power Drill and Impact Driver and How to use them

Get Hands On
- Measure & Cut all material needed for your project
- Construct a Small woodworking project to give you the hands on practise with the tools
- Fix to Timber , Plasterboard ( Gyprock ) and Masonry Walls
After this workshop you will be able to:

- Understand and use your power drill and impact driver confidently

Since 2019 Get Handy have been delivering hands on training opportunities in the field of DIY and home repairs, working towards a vision of easy access to learning the appropriate skills regardless of gender or age, and with successful programs elsewhere have now brought their introductory DIY course to Brisbane.
Beginners and Home repairs is the most basic of the training course that Get Handy deliver and is aimed at introducing students with no experience at all to the world of the most common hand and power tools, instilling not only the skills but confidence to be able to approach small projects around the home with certainty and assurance.
The one day handyman course is 9am-3pm, a hands on experience where students will soon be actively interacting with common tools, understanding their uses, learning about different types of timber and appropriate fixings, resulting in the ability to undertake tasks such as hanging shelves, that previously may have been completed by a local tradie, complete with their charges and costs.
