Get Handy DIY Chopping Board/Cheese Platter Workshop

Want to learn how to make your own chopping board?

Penny Petridis from Female Tradie and Michelle Powell the founder and chef from Naturally Sauced will come together to bring you this exciting workshop where you can create your very own custom design Hardwood piece.

During this one-day workshop you will get to make your own chopping board or cheese platter.

Michelle will also share tips on how to arrange the perfect cheese platter – which we will then enjoy at the end of the class.

    You’ll learn about

    • Safe workshop practises;
    • How to identify and select types of timber
    • Different types of boards including chopping / cheese and platters;
    • The tools needed to cut, shape and complete your board including techniques on using tools correctly;
    • Oils used to protect your board

    Get Hands On

    • Measure/design and shape your own custom board
    • Cut and shape using a circular saw and jigsaw
    • Shape the edges using a router machine
    • Sand your board to protect it
    • Oil your board to complete

    Added BONUS:

    Michelle will also share her tips to create the ultimate cheese platter for us to enjoy at the end of the class with a glass of organic wine or non-alcoholic beverage while she gives us a little insight on her new an exciting venture on Naturally Sauce.

      About your trainer Penny

      Penny Petiridis has been paving her way through the building & construction industry. With 28 years building experience in Carpentry, Metal Fabrication, Horticulture and also completing her Building & Construction Cert 4 she is a leader in her knowledge and field.

      Penny has also been running her own renovations & building business Female Tradie which recently celebrated its 10 year anniversary. With Penny’s skills and attention to detail, Female Tradie is one of the most sought after contractors in Sydney.

      Penny’s mission is to ENCOURAGE, TRAIN & SUPPORT women to follow their dreams. She understands how difficult it is to learn the tools and especially start a business in a male dominated industry. She’s passionate about making a difference and through her workshops & training she is determined to lead the way.
