Women In Trades – Breaking the Barriers

Our Women in Trades – Breaking the Barriers Program is a set of 3 x  5 day workshops running in the northern rivers to encourage, train and mentor women who want to get into trades or the construction industry.

Each workshop will consist of five days including trade tasters, successful female speakers from the industry & apprentices. Trade tasters to get a feel for different trades and also an in depth training of power tool workshop with a small carpentry course.

Day five will consist of a BBQ networking event to start conversations between trade specialists, women in trades, apprentices, apprentice boards, potential employers and employment agencies.

What we are looking for?

Are you interested in working in the trades or construction industry?

We have 30 spots available from women in the northern regions area!

Our first 2 workshops will be hosted in Lismore, potentially the third workshop to be hosted in Mullumbimby.

If you’re somebody that potentially would like to employ an upcoming female tradie, then would love to hear from you!

If you want to support the event, we would love you to come and join us to celebrate on Day 5 of our workshop to celebrate and networking with our paticipants.

Project is funded under the grant program by Trade Pathways Program – Training Services NSW

“This is a fantastic course for anyone who needs a little reassurance with tools. Penny is a patient and kind teacher with a great sense of humour. Before I did this course, I couldn’t use a drill, now I’m a confident “handy-woman” in my home. It’s rather liberating knowing you do it yourself.  Thanks Penny!”

“So much fun learning with the girls! Would recommend a Saturday morning with Penny and her power tools!!!”
